Let Us Introduce Ourselves

Moana Minerals is a Cook Islands-based mineral resource development company with a large defined mineral resource containing substantial quantities of metals with the potential to significantly address the projected supply shortages of metals needed for the clean energy transition. The formation of Moana Minerals and the securing of exploration rights for polymetallic nodules is the culmination of previous work done by Ocean Minerals to find seafloor resources, which consequently resulted in agreements for reserved areas within the Cook Islands (2016 and 2017).

Meet Our Team

Moana’s uniquely qualified team has extensive experience in underwater mining, deep ocean oil & gas exploration and production, subsea intervention, mineral processing, and the engineering and implementation of large-scale projects. Ocean Minerals' Founder was the lead developer of the deep-sea nodule mining system for the Kennecott Consortium of the 1970s. Other team members have significant experience in the metals and underwater mining industries, deepwater operations, finance and environmental management. Our team is committed to making the Cook Islands nodule project a success, with leadership based in Rarotonga for the duration of the exploration program.
